This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS Convertible is a great cruising classic
It has its sophisticated color combo, plenty of well-preserved details, and the right upgrades to be a good driver. It all makes for the kind of style you want on a real-deal Rally Sport.
The trim tag tells us it was born a Granada Gold drop-top. A later respray gave it some added metallic flake that lets this sunshine-friendly convertible look even more radiant out in the sunlight. Black always looks terrific against, and so they gave this a comprehensive dark side with the D91 sports stripe, chin spoiler, rear spoiler, pinstriping, and a crisp-looking convertible top. And of course, this is a real-deal Rally Sport, so you get the blackout style of the hidden headlight front end. Overall, the presentation and finish of this RS is about being a driver-quality and driver-ready car. That’s why you’ll pick up on little details like the larger 15-inch Rally wheels that allow you a better selection of modern tires. And good body lines, bright bumpers, and complete trim give this the kind of total style that will certainly get you some long stares when this pulls up to the stoplights.
As nice as the black roof looks against the gold paint, the look of the gold interior against the gold exterior is quite premium and distinctive. So you’ll love folding back the top to show off the full package. A quality style on the seats, carpet, and dash pad make this inviting, and it’s so comprehensive that you have golden details like the convertible boot. Because this is built to be a cruiser, you have all the right driver-ready features. This includes factory-style details like the front bucket seats and the center console with a clock. There are also worthwhile upgrades like a cup holder/armrest console and a retro-style AM/FM stereo.
Powering this Camaro is a year-correct 327 cubic-inch V8. It looks quite nice with the bold orange block, shining valve covers, matching air grabber, and an overall tidy style. The V8 has been upgraded to go with this Camaro’s cruiser style, and so you have valued additions like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an aluminum radiator. The V8 warms up to be a strong runner, and the three-speed automatic transmission is a smooth shifter. Power steering, power brakes, and front discs are all part of a driver-ready package.
