There’s been a big block residing in the engine bay ever since this Ford left the factory, but the 427-cubic inch V8 that sits there now takes things up a notch or two over its predecessor as far as power is concerned. Crowned by a pair of Rochester 4-barrel carbs that keep it well-fed, this is a strong motor to be sure, and it fires right up and runs with a great aftermarket lope that’s prominent enough to convey its power, but not so drastic as to be jarring. A four-speed manual transmission sits in place of the original automatic to provide a more involving driving experience.
