an exceptionally clean, extremely original, 36k original mile 1983 Porsche 911SC Cabriolet finished in desirable factory original Black paint over a Black leather interior. 1983 marked Porsche’s first year for the 911 Cabriolet and the first year the marque had offered any cabriolet model since the 356 in 1965. Despite having been driven sparingly throughout its 32 years of service, this gorgeous example has always been well cared for, garaged and used only in favorable weather, exhibiting no evidence of rust or rust repair with an entirely original undercarriage. Truly a pleasure to drive, it starts right up (without any smoke), pulls strongly and smoothly through each gear and shifts crisply. There are no shudders or vibrations and no inconsistencies in compression. The brakes are precise and the car stops as straight as it drives. Living up to Porsche’s legendary handling, the car is joy in the canyons and it always feels torquey and precise. The drive train is completely original and the car has benefited from recent service including new synthetic oil, all new filters, new distributor cap and rotor, new spark plugs and ignition wires and new front hood and new rear decklid struts. Prior to our acquisition, the car had a complete professional inspection confirming that the engine (including its cylinder head bolts/studs and timing chain tensioners) is in excellent, leak-free condition and that the transaxle, brakes and other systems are all in good shape. Having never been in any accidents, the car’s desirable Black finish is entirely original (with the exception of the front valence) and in fantastic shape: deep, lustrous and marred only by nearly negligible imperfections consistent with any low mileage car. Allow me stress that these imperfections are exceedingly minor – they don’t show up in the pictures and in no way interfere with the car’s overall appeal. All of the panel fits and gaps are factory consistent, the glass and rubber are in great shape and the original Fuchs 16” wheels are unmarked and wrapped in new Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires.
