the most rare of all the W113 “Pagoda” Mercedes SL’s.  The 250 SL was produced for only 13 months and only 5,200 examples were produced for world wide distribution.  Only about 1,600 were imported to the U.S.  Even more unique is that this is a European Spec car, with the higher output engine, front mounted fog lights, single lense headlights, and no market lenses on the four corners of the car.  Other options include a removable hardtop, power steering, and four wheel power disc brakes.  The brake power booster system has just been rebuilt, and all engine hoses have been replaced with Mercedes OEM hoses.  The transmission is a 4 speed shiftable automatic that operates smoothly and without issue.  The engine has just been serviced and tuned, and runs very nicely, although until the engine is fully warmed up, the idle is a bit rough.  The interior is very nice with no notable issue at all, even the wood trim on the interior is in excellent shape.  All gauges and lights work, including the original European 3 band Becker radio.  The paint shows well with with only a couple of scratches that appear to be related to taking the hardtop on/off.  The convertible top looks to be in good condition, but I have never used it.  Some of the bright/chrome work is showing it’s age as well.  All of the glass is in excellent condition and appears to be original.  The tires are near new (90% tread), and the brake pads show substantial pad remaining.  With only 112,400 km (69,700 mile) showing on the odometer, this is a very low mileage survivor.
