Hard to go wrong with 289 cubic inches of small block V8 under the hood. This is a C-code, meaning it has a 2-barrel carburetor and 200 horsepower, which is plenty in the lightweight Mustang. It looks pretty original with Ford Blue engine enamel and that big air cleaner, so it has a familiar look that has delighted fans for two generations. From experience, I’ll tell you that you’ll be delighted that this one has factory power steering and with a bubbly, friendly idle and a great V8 bellow at speed, the Flowmaster dual exhaust system is a welcome upgrade.
