1965 was a Pinnacle year for the Chevrolet Corvette’s history. The very first Introduction of a Big Block into the infamous C2 Corvette. Already a place holder for one of the fastest production cars ever produced until 1965, the 396 ci 6.5L 425hp engine was just the icing on the cake! This was the only year for the 396 “Turbo Jet” engine! This was mated to a M-21 Muncie 4spd for maximum achievement of directing the power of the NEW 396 to the street. An optional F40 front suspension was also added with disc brakes for the 1965 corvette. Needless to say this a great year for any corvette or classic car collector to own. The ease of drivability on this year corvette is astonoshing compared to the previous models!
This fully optioned 1965 corvette is better than it was new off the factory floor. This car is a date code correct engine and transmission; meaning the engine and transmission are brand new. Not the True numbers matching corvette you were hoping to hear. I myself truly appreciate the rarity of seeing a car 50 plus years old having the original block casting, heads and transmission but lets face the facts. Do you really want to be using a drivetrain that old. This car revs and drives as if it were brand new becuase it basically is. This corvette has undergone a recent “Frame-Off Nut & Bolt Restoration” all the way down to new chevrolet corvette ralley wheels. While maintaing the factory look and appeal a few technological upgrades were added.
