The original Thunderbird 390 Special V-8 combined with the original Ford’s Cruise-O-Matic transmission is rock solid and dependable. With 300 horsepower under the hood, and a 3:00 to 1 gear ratio, this T-bird accelerates and cruses effortlessly.  Power steering and suspension is tight. Ride and cornering are excellent.  Power brakes with front disk, rear drums with a dual master cylinder for safety.  Factory air conditioning, heater and power vents are included for comfort.  Swing away steering wheel and automatic release parking brake are included for convenience.  Front shoulder straps and rear lap belts for safety. The automatic convertible top is in excellent condition and its operation is a sight to behold. After releasing the front latches, simply hold down the button and a myriad of things happen with the end result being the top completely hidden in the trunk.  You’re left with a clean aerodynamic look with no cover to snap in place like many convertibles. The sound system has been upgraded to a “factory looking” 500 watt powerhouse.  No matter what type of music you prefer, this system will belt out your tunes even with the top down at highway speeds. Many original parts including fender skirts, wheels, and hubcaps come with the car in case you every want to go back to the original look.  Although you won’t need any now, parts and accessories are readily available for this popular American icon.
